Make a Wish trip
Mom dropped us off at the airport the morning we were to leave. The fun started when the sky cap came back and told us there was no reservation for Megan (my sister who went with us) it had been cancelled. We waited and worried and eventually he came back, apologized and said they had reinstated her ticket. Whew.

Next incident happened when I went to go through the metal detectors. Apparently my license expired in October and I had no idea. The worker sent me back down to luggage check in to speak with a supervisor assuring me everything would be fine. Ummm, the supervisor told me they were not going to allow me to fly with an expired license. I started to cry and explained that this was a Make A Wish trip where our daughter didn't live long enough to go with us. He decided to allow me to go - whew! They did mark my ticket as high-risk so I was highly scrutanized every step along the way, wanded, patted down, but allowed to go.

The kids did great flying. No problems.

When we got in to Florida the weather was beautiful. Mid 70's to 80's the entire time we were there. We stayed at the Safari Sheraton where everything from the swimming pool to the lobby to the rooms were Safari themed - what fun! The rest of the first day we spent just unpacking and getting dinner and anticipating Disney World.

I really wanted to figure out a way to take a part of Taleah with us. I really wish there had been a way to take the molds of her hands, but they're too fragile so I took a couple of framed pictures and the ruby slippers we keep in the front room. It helped us feel as if she was with us, in a small way.
