Make a Wish trip We started out with a bang - Magic Kingdom. The first ride we went on was Buzz Light Years Space Command - what an awesome ride! It's slow moving, but you control where your little compartment faces and you have a gun to shoot targets on the bad guys. It was like being inside a video game. Of course John and Ethan scored the highest every time. Fun! Fun! Fun!

Colin's faborite activity of the day was chasing/feeding the birds. This would continue to be one of his favorite activities throughout the whole trip. The birds in Disney World are afraid of no man. At one point I was handing Ethan a cracker to throw down for the birds and a bird swooped down and took it right from our hands! If I put crackers on my knee they would take them from there. Crazy. Colin couldn't understand why the birds wouldn't let him touch (I was glad they weren't that friendly)

My favorite memory took place that afternoon. There are characters dressed up all over the parks and special places designated so the kids can go meet certain characters. Megan, Natalie and I headed to the building where the Princesses were signing autographs and posing for pictures. This was so poignant for us. When Make a Wish asked Taleah what her number one wish was she said "Go to Disney World and see the princesses" When they asked her what her second wish would be she said "Go to Disney Land and see the princesses" This was for her. Well they take you a group at a time into this room with three princesses each with their own backdrop and the kids move from princess to princess getting autographs and pictures. Well we were the last of our group and both Megan and I started crying as Natalie went up to the first princess. It seemed so wrong, so wrong that Taleah wasn't there to meet them. She would have just gone crazy with excitement. I can picture how her eyes would have about jumped out of her head as she said something like "Mom! Look a princess!"

Well one of the workers came over to us:

Worker: Are you okay, is everything okay?
Me: We're okay, it's just that this was supposed to be my four year old's make a wish trip but she didn't live long enough to come
Megan: It's just that when they asked her what she wanted she said she wanted to go to Disney World and see the princesses.
Worker: Oh, I'm so sorry. So sorry. I'll tell you what. After everyone leaves we'll do something special, we'll get them all together so you can have a picture with all of them at the same time.

So after the other children left, Bell and Aurora and Cinderella came together and we took pictures. They also had professional photographers snapping pictures and the same worker took down my address, asked Taleah's name and promised to develop the picture and have it signed To Taleah and then mail it to us.

As we walked out I was really wanting a room to just yell and cry and be angry in. We went outside and met up with John. I just sobbed on his shoulder. My little princess would have been right in her element. If she had been with us we probably would have gone back a dozen times.

Well the rest of the day was spent riding rides and enjoying our family. Turns out Natalie likes roller coasters - wahoo! She rode Splash Mountain and Space Mountain and everything in between. As long as she meet the height requirements she did it!
